The island of Brac is one of the middle group of islands, the largest among the Dalmatian islands. It is approximately 40 km wide on average 10-12 km, the total area of 395 km2.

The highest peak of island Brac is called Vidova Gora (Vitus' Mount) (778 m). It is the highest peak of all Croatian islands.

Since land is the Brac channel (maximum depth 78 m) located 6-13 km. To the west of the island of Solta by separating the narrow neck of Split, and to the south of the island of Hvar by the Hvar Channel (depth 91 m). In the immediate vicinity of the land is the largest city on the eastern Adriatic coast, Split.
